Is it jointer
or joiner? In the program it says joiner, but jointer seems to go
better with the professions of the other working men of Athens.
Either way, the line was funny.
Oh yeah, just
so you know, I’m talking about A Midsummer Night’s
Dream. And oh yeah, I was planning on using the time it takes
to write this weblog entry to do homework, but at the request of
none other than Brett Price, I’m doing this weblog entry instead.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Brett. But that’s okay,
it was definitely starting to look like I wasn’t going to
get anything done tonight, anyway. However, you are lucky I have
lots of time to do that homework tomorrow.
Well now,
it was a bit of a busy weekend. I got home late from work
on Halloween, ate three meals in about half an hour, put on
my Halloween costume—Mr. White, and sped off for the
rendezvous point. There, I met Lukas Auer as Mr. Peanut, Gabe
Nash and Brett Price as women, Kevin (whose last name I do
not know) as (I think) Johnny Depp from Once Upon a Time
in Mexico, Charles McDonald as Iron Maiden fan, Matt
Shayphr and Josh as Joey and Dee Dee Ramone, respectively,
Katie Jenkins as Cole Jenkins, and Cole Jenkins as…
uh… guy with robe, monocle, and moustache.
We went to Lucas
Walker’s neighborhood and hit up a bunch of houses there,
where residents mistook Lukas for a piece of popcorn and Mr. Potato
Head. One woman liked his costume so much that she went insane and
was still yelling at us a good twenty seconds after everyone got
candy from her. While in the neighborhood, we merged with another
group of trick-or-treaters featuring Starz, Wormzer, and all those
other kids I know from dodgeball. This newly-formed supergroup temporarily
took over the Walker household before parting our separate ways.
Later, Jon Reno, dressed as a ruthless samurai warrior, joined our
party, but not before Desma Reno made us dance to Super Freak. In
fact, a couple of other people in that neighborhood also wanted
us to dance, but they didn’t play music or anything.
After encompassing
the neighborhood, we headed to dodgeball for a quick game in costume
before departing for Cape. It was quite fun. Playing in a suit and
sunglasses is very adrenalating, let me tell you (yes, I did just
make up that word).
adrenalate –
v. To cause adrenaline to flow.
We took Lukas
home, then went to Tressa and Julia’s apartment for a minute
or so, went to Taco John’s for some delicious food, then went
to Tim’s house, where Tim was not due to illness. We hung
around outside for awhile, since nobody was there yet. But then
people showed up, and we had a good time. I was pretty tired by
the end and would have had more fun if we had left an hour or two
before we did, but it was still fun. Good costumes at the party:
Cobra Commander, “Condom-Mints,” and any girl who dressed
in underwear and called it a “costume” (hey, I’m
a guy, I didn’t not like it). Ashley Jones’ “Gangster
of Love” was pretty creative, too.
The next day,
“Katie and eight guys,” as Tim’s dad referred
to us when we saw The Diviners many months ago (though
some of the guys were different this time), gathered to see the
play, which featured Tim Nicolai, Lucas Walker, and Andy (A.P.)
“Sandwich” Baldwin. I haven’t seen any Shakespeare
for awhile, and it took a moment to get used to again, but I enjoyed
very much. The highlight was definitely the working men of Athens,
featuring the three humans previously mentioned. Great job, guys.
Very humorous.
Well, looks
like almost this entire weblog entry ended up being a weekend recap.
Not bad, I suppose. I’m just so glad I had something to do
for once.
Just so you
know, weblog entries and other updates may become less frequent,
as we have entered the last six weeks of school. I will try my best
to keep things going, though. So long, for now.
